idk I still can't quite wrap my head around why does that clan leader want to avenge wuji in the first place. I share the same opinion as you, however, I have noticed that even donghua's are reusing the same types of storyline over and over like japanese anime. Dont get me wrong though, even though they are reusing the same type of storyline I do find them more interesting.
